Along with the entire state, intensive revision of the voter list has started in Asansol as well. Special camps have been set up to help the common people of the area in filling the counting forms.
Paschim Bardhaman District Magistrate S Ponnabalam and Asansol Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Head) Biswajit Bhattacharya on Sunday visited two special camps of Manimala Girls High School and Idgah High School in Asansol. They spoke to the BLOs and BLAs present there about various problems. They spoke to the people present there regarding the enumeration forms, asked about their problems and gave necessary suggestions.
According to the district administration sources, more than 83 percent of the enumeration forms have been collected and digitized in the SIR process in Paschim Bardhaman District till the afternoon of November 30. More than 23 lakh forms are to be distributed in Paschim Bardhaman. Out of which, more than 2 percent of the forms have not yet been taken by the voters.
Therefore, the district administration officials are now trying to reach all the undelivered forms to the voters as soon as possible.
In addition, those who have taken the forms but have not yet submitted them have been advised by the district administration to submit the filled forms quickly.
Meanwhile, the National Election Commission has announced in a press release that the time limit will be extended by seven days, which is expected to provide some convenience in doing this work.
