
Housewife from Burnpur wins silver medal in story writing competition
Jyoti Prakash Mukherjee, Burnpur, West Burdwan -: A national level story writing competition was organized by Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) in collaboration with MyGov. The theme of the competition was - 'SAIL: Building a culture of happiness, where every smile counts'. Around 1000 stories were submitted from all over the country. The results of the competition were recently declared. Out of the 10 winners, 8 awards were won by women. One of the medal winners is Neetu Kumari, a resident of Riverside Township, Burnpur. She added glory to the area by winning the silver medal in the Hindi category. The locals are very happy with her success. Incidentally, highly educated Neetu Kumari Devi is the wife of ISP Senior Manager Dinesh Kumar. The husband and wife have a strong interest in writing. Whenever they get a chance in between their daily work, both of them indulge in literary pursuits, edit each other's writings. They have even jointly written a collection of poems. Currently, Neetu Devi is writing a story based on a true incident that happened in a riverside town. Neetu Devi, who is multi-talented, is quite skilled in Madhubani painting in addition to writing stories. Husband Dinesh Kumar is very happy with his wife's success. He himself is very interested in writing. He advises the new generation to leave mobile phones and develop a friendship with books. Acknowledging her husband's contribution to this success, Neetu Devi said, "I would never have achieved this success without my husband's advice and support." She appealed to parents to steer their children away from mobile addiction and turn them towards books. She said that the more they turn towards books, the more their knowledge base will increase.
