As part of Special Campaign 5.0, Asansol Division of Eastern Railway has appealed to the public to observe a plastic-free Chhath Puja and keep the ghats and railway premises clean and eco-friendly.
Extensive cleanliness drives have been undertaken across major stations and nearby ghats, including Sitarampur, Panagarh, Jasidih, Deoghar, Durgapur, Andal, and Asansol, to provide a hygienic environment for devotees. The drives covered Pond and track cleaning, waste removal, bleaching, and sanitation work.
Passengers and devotees are urged to avoid single-use plastics, dispose of waste responsibly, and cooperate in maintaining cleanliness during the festival.
Asansol Division remains committed to ensuring a clean, safe, and pleasant experience for all devotees and passengers during the festive season.
